In short: This sign, which shows a black car in a red-bordered white circle, means motor vehicles other than two-wheeled motorcycles may not enter the road. Motorcycles and bicycles may still use it.

  • Motorcycles and bicycles may enter; pedestrians may use the road.
  • Follow any times or exceptions shown on a plate below the sign.

Where and why is it used?

The car symbol covers all motor vehicles except two-wheeled motorcycles, not only cars. The exam often asks which vehicle may enter a road with this sign; the answer is the motorcycle.
