What does the minimum distance between vehicles sign mean in Turkey?
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Sign code: TT-25 · Prohibitory and restrictive signs

In short: This sign means you may not follow the vehicle in front closer than the distance shown in metres. It is a red-bordered white circle showing two vehicles one behind the other with a number between them.
What should you do when you see this sign?
- Keep at least the distance shown from the vehicle in front.
- Increase it in rain, fog or on slippery roads.
- If someone cuts in and shortens the gap, slow down to open it again.
Where and why is it used?
The sign is often used on bridges, in tunnels and where there are many heavy vehicles. Without a sign, the general rule is to keep a distance in metres of at least half your speed in km/h (for example 45 metres at 90 km/h).
Red-bordered white circle Ban or limit a manoeuvre. The rule starts where the sign stands. "No entry for …" signs without a red diagonal line still ban entry.
