What does the slippery road sign mean in Turkey?
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Sign code: T-8 · Warning signs

In short: This warning sign means the road surface ahead may be slippery. It is a red-bordered triangle showing a skidding car with wavy tyre marks behind it.
What should you do when you see this sign?
- Slow down and leave a bigger gap to the vehicle in front.
- Avoid sudden braking, steering and acceleration.
- In rain, snow or icy weather, drive even more slowly.
Where and why is it used?
The road can become slippery from rain, oil, mud or leaves. On a wet road the braking distance is longer than on a dry road, so keeping a bigger gap matters.
Red-bordered white triangle Warn you that there is a hazard ahead. When you see one, slow down and be ready for the danger. Warning signs are placed before the hazard.
