What does the dangerous bend sign mean in Turkey?
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Sign code: T-1a · Warning signs

In short: This warning sign means there is a sharp bend to the right ahead. It is a red-bordered triangle with a black arrow bending to the right; the mirror image warns of a bend to the left.
What should you do when you see this sign?
- Slow down before the bend, while the road is still straight.
- Do not brake hard in the bend; the car may skid.
- Stay in your lane and do not overtake in the bend.
Where and why is it used?
Speed should be reduced before the bend, not in it. Braking hard in a bend reduces tyre grip and can make the car skid.
Red-bordered white triangle Warn you that there is a hazard ahead. When you see one, slow down and be ready for the danger. Warning signs are placed before the hazard.
