Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Sign code: P-2 · Stopping and parking signs

In short: The no stopping sign means you may not stop your vehicle here at all, not even briefly to drop someone off. It is a blue circle with a red border and a red cross (X).
What should you do when you see this sign?
- Do not stop even to let passengers in or out.
- Only stop when traffic forces you to (red light, queue, officer's signal).
- Move to a place outside the restricted area if you need to stop.
Where and why is it used?
This sign is used on narrow roads where traffic must keep moving, around junctions and near bus stops. Waiting in a queue or at a red light does not count as stopping.
