What does the minimum speed sign mean in Turkey?
Last updated: 28 October 2026 · Sign code: TT-41a · Mandatory signs

In short: The minimum speed sign means you may not drive slower than the number shown on that road. It is a blue circle with a white number inside.
What should you do when you see this sign?
- Do not drop below the number when the road and traffic allow.
- Do not use this road with vehicles that cannot reach this speed (tractors, construction machines).
- In queues, fog or after an accident, drive at a safe speed.
Where and why is it used?
Blue circles give instructions, so a number in a blue circle is the lowest speed and a number in a red-bordered circle is the highest. Minimum speed signs are mostly used on motorways and in tunnels where traffic must keep flowing.
Blue circle Show what you must do. A red circle says "don't", a blue circle says "do this".
Which sign is it confused with?
